Junior Camp Guidelines

Level One ($149 per week, 5 hours of instruction):  Students should have an interest in learning the game of golf.  Golf clubs will be provided if needed.  Camp fees include all equipment usage, range fees and instruction.  Minimum suggested age is 5 and the maximum suggested age is 10.  Kids older than 10 and still brand new to the game will fit perfectly into the Level Two Camp.

Level Two ($199 per week, 8 hours of instruction):  Students should have an interest in learning the game of golf with some experience either through the Level One camp, any other facilities golf camps, or experience with family/friends on a golf facility.  Camp fees include all equipment usage, range fees, facility use and instruction.  Students are not required to have their own golf clubs, but it is recommended as we will play at least one round on the short course at Waltz's.  Minimum suggested age is 8 and the maximum suggested age is 13.

Advanced players interested in competitive golf or just getting to their highest level should consider the Private Lesson Program or Small Group Clinics.  The Small Group Clinics were new in 2022 and the 2024 schedule will be posted by late March.  They will start in May and continue into September.

*Students are allowed to register for more than one camp each summer.  In the past, I have had students participate in as many as 5 weeks worth of camps in the same season.  Many kids will start the summer at one level and then bump up to the next level in the same summer.  Please don't hesitate to discuss this with Steve during the summer.

Camp Schedule, Pricing, and Registration:

2024 Schedule

Week One:     June 17-20, Level 2 Only

Week Two:     June 24-27, Level 1 & 2

Week Three:  July 15-18, Level 1 & 2

Week Four:  July 29-Aug. 1, Level 2 Only

Week Five:  August 5-8, Level 2 Only

*Friday is the rain date for all camps

Camp Fee:  Level One & Two camps will run Monday through Thursday each week.  In the event of a rain day, we will use Friday as an instructional day.  Level One camps will be 75 minutes in length while Level Two camps will be 120 minutes in length.  Session times will remain the same for each week during the summer.

Level Two Camp:  9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.     $199

Level One Camp:  11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.    $149

Price includes all instruction, golf course fees and practice facility fees. 3% service fee is also included in all online registrations.

Weekend Level 2 Camps:

I have decided to offer some weekend Level 2 camps this year.  I am hoping enough interest is there to continue this in the future.

All weekend camps will be Level 2 only.  They will run on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Format will be a condensed version of the week long Level 2 camps.  Short game and some full swing work will be emphasized on day 1.  These will be reviewed on day 2 and then the students will have the opportunity for on course management play on Sunday.

Schedule (2-day camp, Sat. & Sun. 8:30-10:30):

May 18 and 19

June 1 and 2

August 24 and 25

September 14 and 15

*More weekends may be added if there is interest.

*Age range for weekends is 8-13

Weekend Camp Cost:  $129 (Max of 12 students)

1st Day of Camp:

Parents should bring their child into Waltz Golf Farm every day to register their attendance.  Just walk through the building to the deck with the picnic tables attached to the building.  The staff of Steve Oltman Golf School will be set up for registration every day.  Students should do their best to arrive about 5 minutes prior to the start of camp.  Students should bring their own clubs if they have them.  If they don't, we have enough to provide kids with clubs to use during the camp.

On the first day of camp, parents will be asked to stay for a brief talk with Steve Oltman about the camp and pick up requirements.  We do not allow kids to just go into the parking lot to get picked up.  Parents should come into the building and pick their kids up on the deck area every day.  Always safety first!!!

Please make sure kids have a water bottle and you have applied sunscreen.  We stay outside the entire time and do provide water breaks.  We do not provide water or snacks during the camp.  Also, per CDC guidelines, we are not requiring students or coaches to wear masks during the camp.  If a parent or student prefers a mask be worn, that is fine for the student to choose this option.
