Junior Camp Guidelines
Level One ($99 per week, 5 hours of instruction): Students should have an interest in learning the game of golf. Golf clubs will be provided if needed. Camp fees include all equipment usage, range fees and instruction. Minimum suggested age is 5 and the maximum suggested age is 10. Kids older than 10 and still brand new to the game will fit perfectly into the Level Two Camp.
Level Two ($149 per week, 9 hours of instruction): Students should have an interest in learning the game of golf with some experience either through the Level One camp, any other facilities golf camps, or experience with family/friends on a golf facility. Camp fees include all equipment usage, range fees, facility use and instruction. Students are not required to have their own golf clubs, but it is recommended as we will play at least one round on the short course at Waltz's. Minimum suggested age is 8 and the maximum suggested age is 14.
Advanced Level ($149 per week, 6 hours of instruction): Students should have a minimum of two years playing experience on the golf course. All students must have their own clubs as we will be focused on higher level golf instruction individually tailored for each student. Camp fees include range usage, golf course fees and instruction. I am changing the direction of this camp to a more competition based focus which will spend time focused on scoring on the course. We will work every day on short game fundamentals, sand play, golf course management and competition etiquette. On the first day, we will spend the entire day at Waltz Golf Farm working on Full Swing fundamentals and various other short game work. We will continue this work at a higher level the second day and also get some play in on the short course at Waltz Golf Farm. At this level, I want the kids to learn how to score and to play within themselves in order to prepare them more fully for competition. Most of these students are also playing competitive summer golf on the KO Junior Golf Tour or the Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour. Maximum number of students in this camp is 8. All students must be able to walk and play 18 holes of golf. Minimum suggested age is 12.
*Students are allowed to register for more than one camp each summer. In the past, I have had students participate in as many as 5 weeks worth of camps in the same season. Many kids will start the summer at one level and then bump up to the next level in the same summer. Please don't hesitate to discuss this with Steve during the summer.
